• The talk was held in collaboration with the Asturias Provincial Board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC).
   

Each year, on 19 October, Breast Cancer Awareness Day is held to remember society's commitment to the fight against this type of cancer, which, according to AECC data, has the second highest incidence in Spain, with 32,825 new cases in 2018.

Asturagua and Aguas de Avilés are committed to this cause, which is why, in collaboration with the Asturias Provincial Board of the AECC, they gave a talk yesterday on nutrition and cancer prevention for employees of both companies.

The talk was held at 4 pm at the Aguas de Avilés offices with the participation of María Arce Elorza, AECC regional delegate, and Liliana Cabo García, graduate in Human Nutrition and Dietetics who is currently working on the research project Seguimiento dietético y nutricional de la mujer oncológica (Diet and nutrition follow-up of female oncology patients) together with Hospital Universitario Central de Asturias, the Oviedo Medical Centre, and the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Health at the CEU San Pablo University of Madrid. Ms Cabo García gave the talk on food and cancer prevention.
